Plans
A Plan is the primary entity in OpenCDMP, representing a complete Output Management Plan (OMP) such as a Data Management Plan (DMP) or Software Management Plan (SMP).
Every Plan is built on a Blueprint, which defines its sections and structure. Within those sections, users add Assets to document specific research outputs (datasets, software, publications, etc.). Plans support collaborative editing, versioning with version comparison, review workflows, download in multiple formats, and publishing to external repositories for DOI assignment.
Use the guides below to learn how to create and manage your plans.
My Plans
Find, search, filter, and sort the plans you own or collaborate on, and browse the public plans of other projects
Create or edit a plan
Start a plan from a blueprint, then fill it in with the plan editor, its toolbar, and its table of contents
Fill in a plan
Answer the questions of a plan and its assets, from text and choices to references, file uploads, and tables, and find the required ones
Import a plan
Create a plan from an OpenCDMP XML file or an RDA or RAiD JSON file, mapping its assets to templates and sections
Plan overview
Read a plan's content in one page, and reach its actions, collaborators, evaluations, and versions
Work together
Invite people to a plan, give them plan roles and sections, and work on the plan and its assets at the same time
Who can see your plan
Collaborators, the Access field, Public Plans, and publishing to a repository, and what "publish" means in each place of the interface
Evaluate a plan or asset
Run evaluators on a plan or asset, read the results per benchmark and per asset, and act on them
Change status and finalize a plan
Move a plan between statuses, finalize it with the Finalise this item? dialog, decide which assets go with it, and undo the finalization when your workflow allows
Publish a plan
Publish a finalized plan to a repository such as Zenodo or Dataverse and receive a DOI
Versions
Start a new version of a finalized plan, switch between versions, and compare two versions field by field
